What's the point of any novel being written? To tell a good story, to entertain, and/or to make money. I don't think that the idea was to upset the Mormon's or the FLDS. If it was the point, it certainly failed, because I don't recall any hubbub about the book when it was released. I mean, that particularly embarrassing ship has sailed a long time ago. People know that Mormons practised polygamy and that certain sects (most notably the FLDS) still do practice it.

I won't argue, though, that the Red Tent was better. :)Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09002997517784638068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5080372433953859587.post-34615246310493058552010-01-30T15:44:57.523-05:002010-01-30T15:44:57.523-05:00It's good to get your thoughts on the book. It helped me understand Mormons/FLDS and polygamy a bit better.Susannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03115294023069458287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5080372433953859587.post-62680899208136959282010-01-30T15:30:05.999-05:002010-01-30T15:30:05.999-05:00I read this book last summer. I couldnt work out what the point was? unless to upset mormons or to highlight FLDS and the treatent of their women?

I liked the red tent moreSolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00809314184012834659noreply@blogger.com
