Several people on the feed seem to think that re-reading the Gospel of John will fix (or start to) that whole problem.
So let's see. John is what, 21 chapters long?
I'll read it in June, try for a chapter a day.
See if it makes a difference.
I leave this here because it amuses me:
It amused me that they assumed you weren't familiar with John. I know you are well-read, and I thought this included the Bible. Am I wrong?
ReplyDeleteI feel like they fall into the category of people who believe that if you've read the Bible you believe the Bible.
DeleteBut yes. I have read John, along with the rest of the Bible. Multiple times. In different translations. Though all in English, since I haven't gotten around to learning Biblical Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic yet. And no Latin either.
I'm such a slacker.
Haha...well, I am a slacker, too, then, and I am pretty sure most of them are as well! :)
DeleteHmmm, rather than "if you've read the Bible you believe the Bible," I tend to think they believe God will use His word to speak to you as you read. Or they hope He will. And, really, that's what they believe: only God can convince you.
I was just getting ready to write you on FB and let you know I commented here since you said earlier that the blog gods were against me. But I'm glad to see that has been corrected, and I am in their favor! Yahoo. ;)
ReplyDeleteNah, you're still lost in the void somehow. I just know it and check back on the blog every so often. I'm really not sure what's wrong. I get notifications if other people make comments, but not you. :(
