You read so many goddamn books! Very impressive :P
ReplyDeleteI am the queen of reading a lot of goddamn books! :D
DeleteWow! So which were your favorites? :)
ReplyDeleteHmm...Good Omens is always my *favorite* (or else I wouldn't reread it every year and recommend it to everyone with a pulse).
DeleteAnything on there by Jim Butcher is up high on the list. And I really loved the Hunger Games trilogy.
The Song of Achilles was excellent even though I started cringing about half way through because I was invested in the characters and I knew that it was not going to end well.
The Meaning of Jesus is a very interesting book. And my Anderson Cooper crush only grew stronger when I read his book, Dispatches From the Edge.
Let's Pretend This Never Happened made me laugh out loud. In public. And also made me cry in certain sections.
O_O I need to keep track for 2013. But with school I'm not sure how many books I'll actually get through.....that is so many books!
ReplyDeleteSchool books totally count though. :)
DeleteIt's not a contest, I just find it fun to keep track of what and how much I read. I've been doing it for four years now (2013 will be year 5) and some years I'm up, some years I'm down.
On average you read two books everyday.
ReplyDeleteBut on 2/20/12 you read:
The Historian – Elizabeth Kostova (2/20/12)
Country Boys – Richard Labonte ed. (2/20/12)
Children of the Night – Mercedes Lackey (2/20/12)
Bleach Vol. 38 (2/20/12)
Tale of the Waning Moon Vol. 2 (2/20/12)
Seriously? How come? Why you do this to yourself?
Are you trying to control the world by trying to know everything?
And in your previous post you said you would like to read more.
If reading is your hobby and you do it that many times then you should be a very happy person.
As for finishing many books on the same day, if you read several books at the same time (which I do), that's quite possible.
Delete*laughs* Well, first, the date marked at the end is the date that I finish the book. I don't read the whole book that day, typically.
DeleteLet's see...I must have been off on the 20th. Probably I was home sick, and when I'm home sick if I'm not sleeping I read.
The only long book on that list is The Historian and I definitely didn't read it all that day, I just finished it that day. The other two books, Children of the Night and Country Boys are relatively short, about 200 pages each. And the last two books are manga which are also only about 200 pages each and illustrated so they read really quickly. I can read 5 or 6 manga in an couple of hours.
And, as Becky said, I read multiple books at once, picking them up and putting them down as my moods go.
Are you trying to control the world by trying to know everything?
If I was trying to control the world I'd read a lot more nonfiction. :)
But seriously. My motto is basically, 'All knowledge is worth having.' I have to work on the 'not being a smart ass know-it-all about things' portion, but hey, no one's perfect.
Seriously? How come? Why you do this to yourself?
I enjoy reading and writing. You can't be a good writer without reading a lot. And I like to think that I'm at least a decent writer. :)
My other hobbies are all less entertaining, like cooking and gardening (which I suck at, so it's less of a hobby and more of an undeclared war between me and nature) and not as fun to keep track of.
I *am* a relatively happy person, yes. So the book thing seems to be working out for me. :D
Also some of them are Manga (comic books). They take less than an hour to read.
ReplyDeleteI finally got all my manga up onto my bookshelves and of course I spent most of the time sitting there flipping through books I hadn't read in a while.
Deletelove flipping through manga. Been filling in gaps in some collections through paperbackswap. Highly recommend Fake if you ever spot it. And Kodocha.
DeleteOh, I have FAKE. I have all of FAKE. I even have some original Japanese FAKE that I can't read because I don't read Japanese. Also, the OVA. Hmmm...OVA. I should watch that again.
