Hello, My Name is Amber, and...

*cough* FREEEEEEEDOOOOOOM! *cackles like mad* And now we get to wait and see what the reaction is from the rest of the family, tomorrow morning.

So, um, please ignore the pjs and, you know, general frumpiness of my self.

also, nothing to do with the video, but, Supernatural season finale - so much awesome. So much. Where's my season five already?! And I'm gonna see Angels & Demons on Sunday. Hello Ewan McGregor...I've missed you...

  1. The haircut rocks! Don't let the Britney Spear's craziness in shaving her head give your awesome endeavor a bad name. Your family will love it, it's great for summer. Amber, I LOVE the way you talk, you are so intelligent and great. And I also can't wait to see Ewan McGregor, though I can't help but wish it was in Star Wars. Love you sweetie!

  2. Love the hair...I recently cut mine short, too. I tried the 'long hair-cuz your supposed to' also-but I figured my sanity was more important that that!

    Keep thinkin' things through, girl!

  3. You're so funny. As for the haircut/long-hair thing ... eh. Good for you not letting OTHERS dictate what you do. Be lead by the Spirit and obey God. You don't have to live to please humans in matters where God gives you liberty to choose one way or another. (Romans 14). Enjoyed the video. Enjoy your freedom! ;-)

  5. Lisa,

Britney who? I totally forgot about her last stunt. You know she's just copying Sinead O'Connor, right?

Family loves the hair, though it did shock them. They went to bed, and the next morning I had no more hair!

Ewan is wonderful in everything he does! *cuddles him*

  6. Mama Juliana,

I love my short hair. I tried, I really did, but short is definately the way to go for me. Especially in the summer!

  7. Susanne,

I amuse myself, if nothing else!

Whilst not *entirely* appropriate, I find this quote comes to mind:

'I reject your reality, and substitute my own!' from the great sage, Adam on Mythbusters. Of course it could just be that I love that quote, and will use it at any excuse... :)

    *does jig of freedom*

  9. you remind me soo much of my (crazy) much beloved (catholic) friend-sister... I am sad I am not well enough to visit with her when all my sisters gather together in two weeks time....

Guess you have been reading the Gospel of Thomas eh?

    114. Simon Peter said to them, "Make Mary leave us, for females don't deserve life."

Jesus said, "Look, I will guide her to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every female who makes herself male will enter the kingdom of Heaven."

The Gospels of Phillip, Mary and anothers are even more 'insightful to riot'....

I reckon its a man thing.. this sub-servient thing, I don't DO 'SUBSERVIANT' .... I am not a 'sub' anything....

I do however, 'serve willingly' a whole kettle of fish in my book...

we have Angles and Demons on our list to see just as soon as payday hits our (erhmeem) his bank account :0D

have you read the book.... (more guilty looks) ... brilliant read.. read it right through in a couple of hours...

    xx

  10. Nice vid. I recently cut my hair off in a chin length bob because I had one too many strangers (no lie, it was becoming a regular occurrence) have the following conversation with me:

"What Church do you go to?"
    "St. Michael's Orthodox Church."
"Oh, [pause]...I thought you were pentecostal."

Grrrrrr and Arrrrrg! when the hair is long and it's hot, I wear it up. Enough of that. I'd rather it be short.

And you know what....I am 100% with you on my reasons for having been working on growing it out. I was also driving myself crazy with everything. So, I"m right there with ya, sister. Somehow catholicity and fundamentalism just don't mix.

  11. Ahavah,

I hope you get to see your friend again soon!

Umm...actually...no...I haven't. Not recently anyway...*rumages through shelves* I *think* I have it here somewhere though.

Angels & Demons, yes, I've read the book. I enjoy Dan Brown's writing. I certainly don't take him seriously, because it's *fiction*. And I think that the uproar over all this stuff is silly. :) I'm looking forward to his new book in September.

The movie was good, and worth going to the theater for, in my opinion. :)

  12. Alana,

*snorfl* I can see those conversations. People get an image stuck in their head, and that's that. :)

Mine actually comes to the bottom of my ears. Very short. I think it's the shortest I've ever had it.

I think the problem is, sometimes 'fundamentalism' just doesn't make a lot of sense...
