This is our Jack Russell Terrier, Buddy. He's 15, and we just heard from the vet that his kidneys are failing. There's something they can try, but given his age, they hold out no hope.
My mother just made the appointment to have him put down tomorrow. I have no idea why I'm posting this except to share my misery.
If you'll excuse me, I'll be over here, crying.

Cherish all your memories with Buddy.Having to make the decision to put down or Black Lab, Lady, who had brain cancer, was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.

We're doing better. He'd been a little sick, but Wednesday night/Thursday morning he was very, very sick, throwing up. The vet said that that was a sign that his kidneys had stopped working entirely. It was definitely something that needed to be done.

Well the good news is he passed very quickly and is in a better place with lots of dog bones :) I'm so sorry though Amber, it sounds like you have had years of memories with this little sweetie. So sorry it came to this and love you endlessly.

ReplyDelete*hugs* It's getting better. I keep thinking, in the evening, '...and now I need to walk Buddy...' and then realizing that no, I don't. But I've stopped crying, and so it's getting better. I'm a real animal lover, so I take this stuff harder than some, I guess.
