Niqaab Pictures

Okay, I cheat a little on the underscarf front. I haven't found a bunch that aren't too 'blingy' for me. And, seeing as how my scarves are all opaque anyway, I find that these wind stretchy headbands work just as well. Put them on just over your ears and forehead, and they give the look of an underscarf. I haven't had any problem with the headscarves sliding off my hair even without the full underscarf.

THE creepiest looking picture I have ever taken of myself. That's my new flip niqaab with all three veils down. You can, believe it or not, still see.

Flip niqaab with the top two layers flipped. Much better. Less ring wraith. The funky wings on the side are partially because of the shayla wrap. I'm pretty sure that's mostly a matter of practice.

See, here's what I was talking about with the headbands. No underscarf, but you can't tell, can you? A little overhang on the top of the head there, which I like, but it tends to block my peripheral vision if I keep the scarf like that.

Tucked down on the sides now. I *also* like the little folds at the top of the head when you do it that way.

Candice, if you read this, this is what I was talking about. *points up* No underscarf, and no giant forehead of doom. This may or may not work with glasses. I can't find mine to test it out.

And just for grins, shayla.

  1. teehee I like that last one. Leopard is it?

I've used the headbands too. My only gripe was that they tend to be too tight on my head and give me a headache *Ouch*

  2. LK,

Yeah, I think it's my favorite, but then, I like shayla scarves better than the khimar anyway.

Now leopard, no, just some random pattern.

I've never had a problem with the cloth headbands giving me headaches, just the hard ones. :)

  4. I was just trying mine on 2 days ago! The flip one bugs me so much! I put on one veil over the eyes and seriously could not see much... It wasn't a very well-lit room though. But still, I could never wear something like that out.
I like the last one, very cute.

  6. Candice,

No, you can't see well at all in the flip niqaab. :)

Everyone seems to think the last one was the best.

  7. Beautiful!

I think I must be doing something wrong, I have to have the full underscarves or it slips off...but even WITH the underscarves my scarves slip off throughout the day and I have to redo them usually in the mid-afternoon sometime on my long days so they won't fall off in class.

  8. Thank you!

It could just be that your hair's slicker than mine. Smoother, you know? I also tend to favor shayla scarves as opposed to the georgette khimar (which do tend to slip even with an underscarf) so I don't know if that makes a difference...
