No sixth chapter, so we get 1:3:
But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa and found a ship Tarshish, paid his fare, and boarded the ship to set sail with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.
It's interesting to read how Jonah could sail away from God's presence in a ship, huh?
ReplyDeleteHere is the last verse of chapter 4
11 But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?"
Thank God that He is concerned with the Gentiles!! :)
Susanne,
ReplyDeleteI think Jonah *thought* he could escape, but of course, there's nowhere to flee from God! :)
